BREAKTHROUGH | Together with Breakthrough Trust, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) has been creating spaces called From-Youth-for-Youth that target groups from differing class- and educational backgrounds. Young people can address experiences of gender-based and sexualised violence and can create solutions and strategies to address these problems together. The aim is to enable young adults to act as agents of change towards a safe society for all genders.

One of such spaces was created by Breakthrough Trust and RLS through a 22-day youth leadership program in 2019. Participating youths could learn about the usage of pop cultural methods as a means to address sensitive topics such as gender-based and sexual violence and to bring about lasting change in gender behaviors.

Parallel to the university student-oriented youth leadership program conducted a 10-days theatre workshop with young adults who have no or little formal education. Through the method of interactive forum theatre, the participants were sensitized for issues connected to gender justice and learned strategies to address these problems so that they can act as multipliers in the future. The project has been successfully completed in 2019.

In 2020, our partnership with Breakthrough Trust continues. Working with young people from underprivileged communities in Delhi, the project aims to enable the co-creation of safer spaces for all genders. One Puppetry Workshop as well as a youth leadership training will be realised.
