History for Children
History in recent times has become the site of fierce contestation in India. The ruling dispensation systematically pushes through distorted facts and analyses of the Partition. Children are regularly exposed to these through social media and textbooks. The 'History for Children' project deals with issues of the Partition, the complex history of citizenship in post-colonial India and the linguistic diversity of the Indian subcontinent.

Working for a Fair Society
Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung (RLS) is a German political foundation that is part of the grassroots movement of democratic socialism. Bearing the name of Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919), RLS works within the tradition of workers’ and women’s movements. The foundation serves as a forum for debate and critical thinking about political alternatives, as well as a research centre for progressive social development. It is affiliated to the German left party DIE LINKE.
The RLS office in New Delhi is organising and coordinating the foundation’s activities in South Asia. The main areas of our work are Social Transformation, Gender Equality, Labour Rights and Agriculture. RLS provides space for critical discourse. In addition, we publish educational material, offer advice and counseling to our partners and promote North-South as well as South-South dialogue.
Agriculture
Supporting small-scale farmers in dealing with various challenges such as climate change, free trade and industrialisation.
Society
We provide critical analysis of social transformations in South Asia and promote the discussion of progressive aims and ideas.
Labour
Together with activists and scholars we support workers in their struggle for rights – especially those in the informal sector.

RLS regularly publishes interesting reports, political analyses and interviews on current and relevant topics from the region.
