Those Who Stay Behind: Lived Experiences from Indian Sundarbans Amidst Climate Change and Migration

This research explores the effects of climate change-induced migration and immobility in the Sundarbans delta. It examines the experiences of different stakeholders, including women, men, and children, who are affected by natural disasters and rely on agency, social connections, and informal labor networks. The study considers the remittance economy, seasonal labor migration, and the impact of environmental changes on livelihoods and household income in the region. It emphasizes the importance of understanding both migration and immobility in the context of climate change.
